September 2012 UPDATE Project Background

Equipping young men and women with life skills needed to earn a living and contribute to their communities.

The Foundation is complete!
Over $7000 has been given! The foundation is in and an additional $3,650 has been sent so that construction can continue. This progress was made possible by you and some of our partners on this project focused on transforming the lives of young AIDS orphans.

UniReach board member Doug Gillaspie will be in Kijabe Kenya in Late February for a first hand look at the progress. With your help we hope to raise the remaining $10,000 needed so that construction can be completed this spring.

KPTC was founded by Blasto Maina (pictured at top right), who was born in Kijabe and has deep family roots in this central region of Kenya. He is the single father of three children. Blasto was trained in the welding and mechanical trades as a young man and earned his living with those skills for many years. In 2000 He lost his wife to AIDS. In 2002 he joined the staff of Little Lambs AIDS orphans ministry where he has functioned as project manager for over a decade.

The KPTC Vision is to be the premier vocational training center in Kijabe and neighboring villages.
